Methods to Use Aromatherapy

Using the essential oils of aromatherapy in a number of different ways, you can improve the quality of your life and well being.

You can use Essential oils in an Oil Burner, Massage, Bath, Footbath, Inhalation and Compress.

OIL BURNER

For the mind and the emotions

For the oil burner that uses tea-light candles, fill top bowl with water and then add quantity of pure essential oils, as listed below and then light tea-light candle.

ADULT - use 5-10 drops
CHILD - use 2-4 drops
BABY – use 2 drops

MASSAGE

One of the fun therapeutic ways to experience aromatherapy is through
massage. It may also be the most important application of
aromatherapy. Massage is not only therapeutic and relaxing by
itself, but is the most effective way to absorb essential oils into the
body. Oils rapidly absorb into the skin. Because the potency of the
essential oils, it is necessary to dilute them to 3% for the body and
1% for a child or the face.

ADULT – use 1 drop per 2ml eg. 50 drops in 100ml
CHILD or FACE - use 1 drop per 5ml eg 20 drops in 100ml
BABY – use 1 drop per 10ml eg. 10 drops in 100ml

BATH

To use essential oils in the bath, add drops specified below, under running tap and swirl in bath water to make sure that they are dispersed, prior to emerging your body into the water. (Best to add oils when bath is almost full, and also have bathroom door closed, so that you don’t miss out on the excellent aromas, to be inhaled)

ADULT – 5-10 drops
CHILD – 2-4 drops (best to add to 1 tablespoon of milk prior to adding to bath - to make sure essential oil, is completely dispersed)
BABY - 2 drops - (do the same as for a child - add essential oils to 1 tablespoon of milk)

FOOTBATH/INHALATION/COMPRESS

ADULT- 5 drops - always added to water first, to fully disperse, prior to putting your feet in and/or inhalation.
CHILD – 2 drops (see note above)
BABY – 1 drop (see note above)
