Aromatherapy is the art of natural healing through the use of aromatic Essential oils extracted from plants.
The essential oils come from different parts of plants. The essential oil in one plant may be extracted from the seed, the leaves and the twigs as with Cypress, from the fruit peel as with Lemon, the flower petals as with Rose or from resins as with Frankincense.
The oils have characteristic fragrances and different uses. This is due to the varying chemical constituents and properties contained in each.
Most essential oils have over 30 different useful properties. Such properties include relaxants, stimulants, tonics sedatives, antidepressants, analgesics, antispasmodics and more.
